Bali Dental Journal — Copyright and Licensing Terms
Authors who publish with Bali Dental Journal (BDJ) retain copyright of their work and grant the journal the right of first publication. All articles are simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0), which permits unrestricted use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium, provided the original work is properly cited.

The Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license grants anyone the right to freely use and build upon published work, including for commercial purposes, as long as proper attribution is given to the original authors. Copy and redistribute; adapt, remix, and transform; use commercially; distribute modified versions.
Required
Give appropriate credit to the original authors; link to the license; indicate if changes were made.
Not Permitted
Adding legal terms or restrictions that prevent others from doing what the license allows.

Author Copyright Retention
BDJ respects authors' rights to their own work. Authors publishing with BDJ retain the following rights without requiring permission from the journal:
Third-Party Content
Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce or adapt any third-party material (such as figures, tables, photographs, or text extracts) included in their manuscript. Such permissions must be secured from the copyright holder before submission and must not conflict with the open-access license under which the article will be published.
When reproducing third-party content, authors must credit the source appropriately in the figure caption or table footnote, in the format required by the original copyright holder.
Copyright Statement on Published Articles
Each published article in BDJ carries the following copyright statement on its metadata and PDF pages:
"Copyright © [Year] [Author Name(s)]. This article is published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). Free to read, share, and adapt with attribution."
